The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate with Life Technologies, Inc. for renewal materials for SRM 2391a PCR-based DNA Profiling Standard and materials for the new SRM 2392 Mitochondrial DNA Standard as follows: SRM 2391a, Custom DNA kit with 9947A Custom Cells, and 9948 Custom Cells; SRM 2392 Custom DNA kit with 9947A Custom Cells and 9948 Custom Cells. Because of the nature of these materials and the requirement for the DNA samples to remain consistent and retain the same genetic types, the award will be made to Life Technologies, the supplier of the previous material. The required delivery is 3 Months after receipt of order, FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD. The statutory authority is 41USC 254 (c)(1), only one responsible source that can meet the requirements of the Government. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.
