NNEPRA 01-99 DUE 040299 POC Michael J. Murray, 207-287-2346 The
Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority (NNEPRA) of Augusta,
Maine, requests submission of bids from individuals and/or firms for
the purchase of new railroad cross ties. Any correspondence, questions,
or requests for bid documents and specifications should be directed to
Michael J. Murray, PE, NNEPRA, Child Street, 16 State House Station,
Augusta, Maine, 04333-0016, Telephone (207) 287-2346. Sealed bids will
be received at NNEPRA, Child Street, 16 State House Station, Augusta,
Maine, 04333-0016, by Michael Murray until 2:00 p.m. prevailing local
time, until Friday, April 2, 1999 at which time they will be publicly
opened and announced. Any bid received thereafter will not be
considered for award and will be returned to the bidder unopened. Bid
security shall be required as called for in the Instruction to Bidders.
Requests for clarification or for extension of the bid opening must be
submitted in letter form a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours prior to
the bid opening date. The NNEPRA reserves the right to determine
whether an extension is justified. All bidders will be notified in
writing of any extension or clarification. Issuance of the Invitation
for Bids does not commit the NNEPRA to award any contract, to pay any
costs incurred in preparation of a bid pursuant to this request or to
procure or contract for services or supplies. NNEPRA reserves the right
to reject any and all bids and to re-advertise. As an equal

the locality of such governing body), during his or her tenure or for
one year thereafter, shall have any interest, direct or indirect, in
this solicitation or any contract excecuted subsequently, or the
