National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, is
recompeting a contract for the publication of "Survey of Compounds
Which Have Been Tested for Carcinogenic Activity, PHS-149" for Years
1999-2000 and Years 2001-2002. The NCI is seeking a qualified,
responsible firm to perform the following: (1) Search the scientific
literature, selecting appropriate articles, and reviewing these
articles to ensure that they meet the required selection criteria; (2)
acquire the appropriate articles in hard copy; (3) extract specific
data elements; (4) index data elements; (5) assemble this material,
following the format of the latest volume of the "Survey of Compounds
Which Have Been Tested for Carcinogenic Activity;" (6) deliver to the
NCI Project Officer a camera-ready copy conforming to size and quality
specifications of the Government Printing Office, and (7) prepare IBM
PC-compatible diskettes in WordPerfect 7 format of the textual
material and the Cumulative Indices used to produce the camera-ready
copy. Quality assurance processes for literature screening, extraction,
review, publication assembly, and content of contract deliverables are
essential to this work. All responsible offerors will be considered.
It is anticipated that a single cost reimbursement, completion type
contract will be awarded for a four-year period of performance with
incremental funding each year. The solicitation is scheduled for
electronic release approximately April 12, 1999. The proposals will be
due approximately 30 days following the actual date of RFP issuance.
This is a 100% small business set-aside under #8732, with a size
standard of $5 Million. (See Note 1). The RFP may be accessed through
