B -- HOW CHINA IS DRAWING COUNTRIES ON ITS LAND BORDERS INTO ITS SPHERE OF INFLUENCE On behalf of the Office of the Secretary of Defense/Net Assessment and in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.3, the Defense Supply Service-Washington intends to award a purchase order (under the simplified acquisition threshold) on a sole source basis to Mr. Ross H. Munro, Bala Cynwyd, PA. Mr. Munro will perform a study that will identify patterns and trends in the multifaceted interacations between China and its neighbors on its land borders in Northeast, Central, South and Southeast Asia. The study will draw on materials generated by firsthand field research, by assessment of contemporary textual data, and by surveys of relevant academic resources. Professional interview techniques will be employed in the field in situations requiring multilingual skills. The study will be multi-disciplinary, drawing on methodologies employed in such academic disciplines as geography, political science, history, and economics, as well as professional interview techniques.
