Valve, regulating temperature. 1 in size, 96 in. cpaillary tube. Exception to spec: (a) end to end dimension of 9-1/2 in. may be met by furnishing proper size spool pieces, (b) special fail safe construction is required, (c) soft seat rulon, (d) valve to have silver brazed union ends, (e)bulb rating shall be 150 PSIG, (f) temperature setting shall be 140 deg F with adj. range of 120-180 deg F, (g) valve shall have a safety shutdown of 5 deg F min. and 10 deg F max. Above setting, (h) inlet steam pressure range 40-100 PSI steam temperature range 267-425 deg. F, (i) bonnet material of forged brass is acceptable, (j) valve must be certified to operate smoothly without hesitation at various back pressures up to 10 PSIG, (k) shock and vibration tests are required. Valve dimensions are as follows; end to end of 9-1/2 inches, distance below centerline of inlet and outlet ports 9 in max, distance above centerline of inlet and outlet ports is 15 in max. The thermal element dimensions are as follows: retaining nut 1 1/8-12 straight thread, 1 inch combined length of retaining nut plus thickness of seal, 15-1/2 in. max. Length into heater and the thermal bulb dia less than 13/16 in; bulbs may be completely flexible or flexible with rigid portions not to exceed 7 inches in length. Max, valve width is 14 inches. Qty of 23 each to be delivered to Norfolk, VA in 40 days after date of award. Solicitation is a RFQ with an anticipated award date of 6/11/99.
