commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment, software and support
services for a near-real-time RF-wireless asset tracking system at the
VA Medical Center, Memphis, utilizing radio frequency technology (no
"line of sight" necessary.) Estimated 900,000 gross square feet and
3,500 pieces of portable equipment. Installation to provide an
expandable backbone that would require no further investment in
infrastructure for further expansion. System to provide continous data
collection and near-real-time location information. Windows NT based
software and interface with the VA's DHCP network for connection with
the equipment maintenance records. Badges/tags will have an
anti-tampering mechanism and will be sealed to withstand usual hospital
cleaning agents and spray cart wash water pressure and water tempature.
System must be capable of interfacing with security features such as:
badge/image recogniton, door lock feature, exception alarms, panic
button and videa cameras. All requests for solicitations must be
submitted in writing to the: Department of Veterans Affairs, Purchase
and Contract (90C), 1030 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38104. Faxed
