94 -- FURNISH CUT SANDSTONE FOR BRIDGE COPING AT MANASSAS, VIRGINIA SOL 1443RFQ384099002 DUE 042699 POC Debra Durham, 703/754-1861 Furnish Sandstone coping stones, hand-tooled, of similar type, texture and red color range to match existing parapet walls of the Stone Bridge at Manassas National Battlefield Park. The coping stones shall be sound and hard, fabricated with a bushhammer or rough-textured finish and tooled to shed water. The stones shall be sized and dimensioned to cover the parapet and wing walls, for an average overhang of one inch. For the parapet walls, stones shall be in the following measurements: 55 stones shall measure 36'' long, 25'' wide, and 4'' thick; 36 stones shall measure 36" long, 23" wide, and 4" thick; 36 stones shall measure 36" long, 21" wide, and 4" thick. For the wing wall, 10 stones shall measure 36" long, 28" wide, and 4" thick. Individual measurements shall vary by no more than 1/4". Stone shall be furnished, after approval of samples, in a quantity measured in pieces of stone, as listed above, for a total of 137 stones. Suppliers shall submit two samples, each measuring at least 6-inches by 6- inches by 2-inches in size, showing color range, surface texture, hardness and soundness. Approved samples shall become the standard of comparison until completion of stone delivery. Acceptance of bids will be based on approval of samples.
