Laboratory (NRL) requires fire protection research and development in
the following task areas: Fire Extinguishing Agents/Delivery Systems;
Fire Hazard Analysis/Passive Fire Safety; Small and Large Scale Fire
Tests; Fire Fighting Training and Tactics; Fire Protection in
Submarines and other Enclosed Spaces; Simulated Propellant-Induced
Fires; Total Ship Survivability Tests and Remote Damage Control. In
additional to providing technical personnel, the contractor shall
furnish all of the logistical support, including firefighters,
statisticians and photographers as required for specific test programs.
Work is to be performed on-site at the Naval Research Laboratory,
Washington, DC and its Chesapeake Beach, MD facility, aboard the ex-USS
SHADWELL in Mobile, AL, the Naval Air Weapons Center, China Lake, CA
and other government facilities as required. The statement of work,
labor categories, and personnel qualifications will be included in the
solicitation package. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Notes
1and 26 apply. The requirement will be for a total 60 month period of
performance, including a twelve month Base and four 12 month Options.
The solicitation will close 30 days after the issuance date. NRL uses
Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to RFPs. The
solicitation and any amendments to it will be available via the
