General Services Administrations is soliciting proposals for Elevator Modernization for the Federal Building/Courthouse, Tyler, TX, Solicitation No. GS-07P-99-UWC-0005, Project No. RTX92006 (Neg.). Point of contact, Kathy Munn, 817/978-7085, Contracting Officer. Work will include, but is not limited to the modernization of one existing traction passenger elevator. Provide new: solid state microprocessor controls, AC drive motor, car sling incuding safeties, cab, door operator, hoistway doors and hardware, signal equipment, and all necessary material to insure the new elevator meets or exceeds the current ASME-A17.1 Elevator Code and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards. In addition, remove one (1) existing traction freight elevator and install a complete new inground hydraulic freight elevator. Estimated cost range is $250,000 to $500,000. Solicitation documents will be available for downloading from the Internet on or about April 7, 1999. Proposal due date will be on or about May 7, 1999. A pre-proposal conference will be conducted on or about April 22, 1999. The exact time and place of the conference will be provided in the solicitation documents. Proposal package will consist of two parts. Part 1 will be a technical submittal which will be evaluated in four areas: (1) Experience and Past Performance, (2) Number of similar/comparable projects completed, (3) References and (4) Percentage of Work to be completed by the primary contractor. Part 2 will consist of the price proposal. All responsible sources will be considered. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the Internet only.
