R -- DIRECT MEASUREMENT OF CO2 FLUXES IN MARINE WHITINGS The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Technology Center (FETC), Morgantown, WV, intends to award a fixed-price purchase order to the University of South Florida, Department of Geology, Tampa, FL, to examine the ability and efficiency of whitings to sequester CO2 biologically. The University of South Florida, Department of Geology has been pre-eminent in the study of this phenomenon over the past ten years and developed unique expertise in this field. As known experts in this field, no other known researcher or research team has the depth of background in this narrow field of research that is required to satisfactorily pursue this line of inquiry. This request is considered to be sole sourced to the University of Florida, Department of Geology. Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement.
