The solicitation will be available after 04/14/99 and will be issued on CD ROM in MICROSOFT WORD AND EXCEL. Cost and technical proposals are being solicited. The following evaluation factors are being considered for subject Request For Proposal: 1)Price, 2)Technical, including (a)Technical Approach, (b)Management Plan and (c)Past Performance/Corporate Experience. The award shall be based on best value to the Government, price and other factors considered. The Scope of Work includes but is not limited to the following: (1)replacing main and auxiliary hoist electric drives' controls, and the bridge drive mechanism's hydraulic brake system; (2)reconfiguring the main and auxiliary hoist's holding brakes release and setting characteristics (i.e. as primary and secondary); (3) installing new safety cages around vertical access ladders; (4)removing air conditioning equipment and the centralized lubrication system; (5)providing selected overhaul service to the bridge, cross travel, main hoist, and auxiliary hoist drive mechanisms and (6)certification of Government owned 528-Ton Test Weight; (7)re-rating of main and auxiliary hoist motors from existing 50 degrees C to 40 degrees C ambient temperature.
