a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with
additional information included with this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. (ii)Solicitation
F02601-99-T0365 is being issued as a Request for Quote. (iii) This
solicitation incorporates clauses and provisions in effect through the
Federal Acquisition Circular 97-11. (iv) n/a (v) 1 line item,
estimated between 2800 and 3200 cubic yards of concrete (vi). The
following item is concrete and must meet the following specifications
(a) All concrete mix design guidelines are set forth by the
_Proportioning Concrete Mixtures Handbook_ dated 30 Sep 96. (b) The
normal maximum size of aggregate shall be 1 12._ (c) All aggregates
shall be graded in accordance with ASTM 075. (d) Sieves for the purpose
of producing the gradation of course aggregates shall be the following:
50mm, 37.5mm, 25mm, 19mm, 12.5mm 9.5mm NO 4. And NO 8. (e) Sieves used
for the gradation of fine aggregates shall be the following: 9.5mm NO.
4. NO 8. NO. 16. NO 30. NO 50. and NO. 100. (f) All portland cement
materials shall conform to ASTM C150. The tricalcium silicate content
shall be limited to 55% and the alkius shall be limited to 0.75%. (g)
Cement types IA, IIA and IIIA shall not be used. (h) The minimum cement
content shall be 564 PCY of the concrete, when using only portland
cement as the cementitious component of the concrete mixture. (I) The
minimum amount of portland cement shall be 517PCY of concrete when fly
ash is used as an additional cementitious material. (j) The water
cementitious ratio is defined as the mass of water divided by the
combined mass of cement and fly ash. The ratio shall not exceed 0.45%.
(k) The target air content of the concrete mix is 3.0%. (l) The
required 28-day flexural strength of the concrete shall be 600 PSI and
tested for in accordance with ASTM C78. (vii) FOB: Destination Date:
estimated pours between 28 Apr through 17 Jun 99, with 10 pours
estimated between 195 CY and 311 CY each. (viii) Provision 52.212-1,
Instruction to Offerors-Commercial Items applies. (ix) Provision
52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items is applicable. (x) Offerors are
required to submit a completed copy of 52.212-3 Offerors Representation
and Certifications-Commercial Items. (xi) Clause 52.212-4 Contract
Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items and any addenda the clause
applies to this acquisition. (xii) Clause 52.212-5 Contract Terms and
Conditions Require to Implement Statues or Executive Orders Commercial
Items, applies to this solicitation. (xiii) N/A (xiv N/A (xvi). This
solicitation is open to all business concerns. The entire solicitation
will be released solely on the EPS WEBSITE (paper copies will not be
available). Any prospective bidders interested in bidding on this
solicitation MUST register in order to receive notification of any
action on this solicitation. Bidders registering their name on the
source list should not conclude that they would receive a paper copy of
the solicitation in the mail, as a paper copy will not be available.
All prospective bidders are responsible to visit the WEB page
frequently and obtain any amendments or other information pertaining to
this solicitation. The solicitation and attachments will only be
available by downloading the documents from this WEB page. Effective 1
June 1998, contractors must be registered in the Centralized
Contractor Registration Program in order to receive a contract award
