with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be
made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition
Procedures. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service intends to issue a
Request for Quotations (RFQs) to develop biological criteria for the
recovery of the Florida scrub-jay populations on public lands in
Brevard County, FL. Contractor will be required to continue studies
begun in 1997 and 1999, including (1) basic biological data (juvenile
production, pair bond fidelity, sex ratios, delayed breeding
characteristics, and dispersal distances) to enhance recovery; (2)
monitor population demographic success in relation to management
activities. These studies will take place at the Malabar, Jordan,
Valkaria, Babcock, and Micco scrub sites. SIC Code: 8731. Size
Standard: 500 employees. Estimated issue date: 4/19/99. A firm fixed
price order will be issued. Award date will be on or about 5/28/99
through 5/27/2000, with 3 option years. This is a small business
