The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC intends to award a sole source Purchase Order to Eldyne, 3033 Science Park Rd, San Diego, CA 92121 for the AN/KSQ-1 Amphibious Assault Direction System Engineering services and hardware assembly. Coastal Systems Station requires on-site contractor assistance to inspect ships intended for installation and produce preliminary installation drawings. The contractor shall provide engineering services and materials in support of AN/KSQ-1 design engineers to ensure that the plan for the installation of AN/KSQ-1 equipment satisfies fleet requirements. The contractor shall also give on-site assistance to assemble AN/KSQ-1 hardware for the USS Denver and to demonstrate the equipment operates correctly. This purchase order is not available for full and open competition as Eldyne is the only company who has been involved with installing the AN/KSQ-1 hardware equipment on various Navy ships. No other contractor could accomplish the unique installation requirements without a significant amount of time and money to acquire the knowledge Eldyne already has. SEE Note 22.
