Wolfe, 304/285-5883 THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTES ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is issued as Request for Quotation No. RQ99-015. This procurement is being issued unrestricted. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3826 with a size standard of 500 employees. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-08. Furnish to the Appalachian Laboratory for Occupational Safety and Health, Morgantown, WV the following Contract Line Items (CLINs), brand name or equivalent to instruments manufactured by Columbus Instruments, Columbus, OH. All items are in quantities of one (1) each: (001) #1012M-4-D38, modular metabolic treadmill, 4-lane with shock; (002) #7600-D38, ECO-OXYMAX main controller, ECO oxygen and carbon dioxide; (003) #7603-D38, ECO-OXYMAX air supply pump; (004) #7620-D38, ECO-OXYMAX chamber ventilation system (5LPM). SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Must have 4 isolated or modular treadmill lanes equipped with individually controlled shock grids to be used with rats. 2. Inclination of lanes should be individually adjustable. 3. Animal compartments must be enclosed with air-tight seals to accommodate metabolic measurement. 4. System must include analyzers/controllers for measuring oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production for a single animal/lane. Must be able to upgrade system at a future time to accommodate oxygen and carbon dioxide measurement for multiple lanes simultaneously. 5. System should be supplied with computer interface and software for control and data collection. DELIVERY OF ALL ITEMS IS DESIRED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF AWARD. The Government will evaluate based on F.O.B. Destination (Morgantown, West Virginia). Shipping and Handling costs shall be included in the price or identified as a separate line item. The requirements at FAR 52.214.21 "Descriptive Literature" apply. Information provided must demonstrate the unit's ability to meet the specifications stated above or your offer may be rejected.
