The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to procure Security Printing Rigging Boards also known as, _Underlay Sheets_ for use on impression cylinders of high speed sheet-fed rotary intaglio presses. An unrestricted full and open competitive solicitation is planned. The BEP anticipates a multiple award fixed price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract. Individual orders will be competed among the contract awardees from this single solicitation. . This procurement will be negotiated and awarded according to the procedures set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12. The period of performance will be for one 12-month base period plus four (4) twelve month option periods. The BEP's total anticipated requirement is for approximately 27,000 Rigging Boards in the base year, with increasing quantities each option year, up to approximately 32,000 Rigging Boards in the fourth option year. Offerors will be required to submit a material sample with their offer. The source selection decision will be based upon overall best value to the BEP, price and non-price factors considered. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued not later than April 20, 1999. A thirty (30) day response time is planned. All firms shall include in their written request for a copy of the solicitation, its size status (i.e., Large, Small, Minority, or Women-Owned). BEP is also posting this announcement on GSA_s Electronic Posting System (EPS) at http://eps.arnet.gov.
