objective of this requirement is procure testing and inspection
services so that the Government can determine whether brake hose
assemblies designed for use on motor vehicles comply with performance
requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 106,
"Brake Hoses". The Contractor shall furnish the necessary qualified
technical personnel, facilities, and equipment to perform inspection
and compliance testing services necessary to, determine conformance of
sample brake hose assemblies provided to the Contractor as Government
Furnished Test Items (GFTI). The contractor shall also provide
reporting Services in conjunction with the inspection and compliance
testing services. Bidders must have the necessary testing facilities,
materials and equipment capable of meeting the testing requirements as
specified by the solicitation and the Office of Vehicle Safety
Compliance Laboratory (OVSC) Test Procedure TP-106-08, "Brake Hoses"
dated March 31, 1993. The Government may require a demonstration test
at the Offeror's expense prior to contract award using the testing
facilities, materials, personnel and equipment that the Offeror
proposes to use in the performance of the contract. No subcontracting
will be permitted. The Government reserves the right to make multiple
awards from this procurement. The anticipated period of performance is
for twelve (12) months with four (4) additional one-year option
periods. This solicitation will be mailed to those organizations
responding in writing to this announcement. The anticipated issuance
