This project shall be the installation of a complete fire supression system for the laboratory areas of the High Bay Area of Building 1171 at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Newport RI. The work is below the existing suspended acoustical tile ceiling. The contract will include new piping, sprinkler heads, valves, tamper switch, electrical wiring, conduit, and connections to the existing Notifier fire alarm panel and any necessary appurtenances and work to provide a complete suppression system including testing and acceptance testing with the Naval Newport Fire Department present. The estimated cost range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The Size Code is 1711 and the business size standard is $7.0 Million. The proposed contract (solicitaion) is being issued as Un-Restricted. There will be a charge for plans and specifications but at this time the dollar amount has yet to be established.
