This is a modification to combined synopsis/solicitation number N00173-99-R-JR03 issued 08 March 1999, and modified on 17 March 1999, for the acquisition of a commercially available Cryogenic Probe System for the measurement of semiconductor, superconductor, and other devices at low temperatures. The following clarifications are made in response to questions: are revised: "2.4.1 A microscope shall be included which permits the viewing of the working space with the resolution required of typical dc and microwave probing systems. In particular features of 5 microns must be visible." (A monoscope may be adequate for the typical viewing situation anticipated). "2.1.3 The cool-down time of the stage, with no sample and no probe tips touching the stage, from 300 K to 5 K shall be less than 20 min." (During this time, however, at least two microwave probes and four dc probes must be in the test-chamber). All other requirements of this synopsis/solicitation remain the same as previously advertised. Any questions generated, as a result of this solicitation must be received no later than 10 days before the closing date.
