is a Request for Information (RFI) only. A request for proposal,
invitation to bid or contract will not be issued as a result of this
RFI. The Program Executive Officer for Cruise Missiles and Unmanned
Aerial Vehicles (PEO-CU) is developing a Technology Roadmap for the
Tomahawk Weapons System (TWS) and future cruise missile systems. The
purpose of the Technology Roadmap is to identify emerging technologies
with potential for insertion into the TWS and future cruise missile
systems. The Technology Roadmap will focus on technologies that will
enhance mission capability. Potential areas for enhancement include,
but are not limited to: -- mission flexibility: expanded target set,
increased range, new launch platforms, improved mission planning and
additional missions including, in-route reconnaissance and
sensor/counter-measure projection, -reliability, -- systems
effectiveness: increased accuracy, autonomous navigation, improved
lethality, minimized collateral damage, reduced response time, and
improved survivability, -employment interoperability: Joint
Service/Allied targeting and mission planning, human/computer
interface, communications, networking, multi-media, -logistics,
-affordability: reduced cost to manufacture, deploy and operate,
-sustainability: extended storage life and reduced re-manufacturing and
re-certification costs of existing and future inventory. The Technology
Roadmap will encompass near term (2001 -- 2004), mid term (2004 --
2010) and long term (2010 -- 2030) technology enhancements. Respondents
should submit a technology concept paper, which includes the following
information: -identity of the provider, -concept title, -- brief
description of the concept to include which segments of the cruise
missile systems the concept applies and when it will be available for
concept demonstration, -description of the anticipated benefits.
