66 -- VXI SCSI DISK MODULES,CABLES AND SCSI-II TERMINATOR SOL N68335-99-R-0193 DUE 041499 POC Dawn Chartier, Code 2132DC, Mailstop B129-2, (732) 323-2933 The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations on a sole source basis with Hewlett Packard to procure Commercial Off-the-Shelf hardware in support of the Navy's Consolidated Automated Support System (CASS). This hardware is to include 30 HP E4208D VXI SCSI Disk Modules, SCSI-II to SCSI-11 cables and SCSI-II Terminator. The E4208D is a single slot C-size VXI asset which consists of a 2 gigabyte hard drive and a 3.25 floppy drive. The front panel consists of two SCSI-II connectors with identical capabilities for daisychaining additional SCSI devises. The E4208D will be connected to the VXI slot zero controller via the SCSI-II to SCSI-11 cable, which is to be included with the E4208D modules. The SCSI-II terminator will be placed on the second E4208D connector to terminate the SCSI bus. The HP E4208D VXI SCSI Disk Module, SCSI-II to SCSI-II cables and SCSI-II Terminator are to provide an approved means for handling classified data. The Hewlett Packard hardware is compatible with the currently deployed CASS hardware and is 100% compatible. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a proposal, which may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
