The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ in support of the Program Manager for Small Arms, currently has a requirement for commercial off-the-shelf 12 Gauge Breaching ammunition and plans to test and evaluate the ammunition. The intent of this effort is to determine if suitable ammunition is available from commercial sources, which satisfy the breaching requirements, established by the U.S. Army Infantry School. This program will result in a U.S. Army Type Classification of this ammunition for use in the Winchester Model 1200 and/or the Mossberg Model 590 12 Gauge shotguns. Any and all offerors responding to this Request for Quotations (RFQ) shall submit a proposal of not more than 20 pages, which contains a technical description of the ammunition which is to be provided. As part of the proposal the offeror will submit a sample of 300 cartridges of 2.75 or 3 inch, 12 Gauge Cartridges at no cost to the Government. The 300 sample will be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation criteria contained in the RFQ. A down select will follow the sample evaluation. Two contracts will be awarded for delivery of fifthteen thousand 12-gauge shotgun shells identical to the samples submitted. These shells will undergo additional testing at Govt facilities.
