14 -- PROCUREMENT OF HARPOON MISSILES FOR FOREIGN MILITARY SALES POC Contact, Stacie King, Phone (301) 757-5931 Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award the 1999 Harpoon Weapons System (HWS) production contract for FMS countries which execute Letters of Offer and Acceptance (LOAs) during 1999. This requirement includes the procurement of Harpoon missiles and related equipment, services, and documentation. Various missile configurations will be procured depending on the requirements specified in the LOAs. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to McDonnell Douglas Corp. (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St Louis, MO 63166-0516. MDC is the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer of the HWS and the only known firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, facilities, and experience to perform this effort within the required time frame.
