E-MAIL: Pamela Alston, Pamela.Alston@dover.af.mil. This project consists essentially of, but is not limited to, purchase of an aircraft wheel washer. Unit shall be adjustable to accommodate wheels up to 23 1/2" wide and 7 3/4" deep. The required wheel washer must have a medium bead blast process needed to remove electrically charged carbon brake dust from inside of wheel rim. It also must be able to remove a build up of rubber on outside of rim. The wheel washer shall have nozzles which cause a sufficient force of water strong enough to remove grease from bearing area. The cleaning process shall be accomplished within a time frame not to exceed six minutes per wheel. The unit must be self contained and contain a filtration system which allows the rinse water to be reused. Prececo Inc. typhoon Aircraft Wheel Washer Model #AWW 32-E-250-RD-BO is the desired piece of equipment. Dover Air Force Base intends to award this requirement as a sole source, without further competition unless we receive notification of other responsive sources, no later than close of business, 15 APR 1999 as a result of this synopsis.
