Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to make
an award to Whatman, Inc., 100 Ames Pond Drive, Tawksbury, MA
01878-0982, for the purchase of Qty. 3 Whatman Nitrogen Gas Generator.
The Model no. is 75-880. The generator comes ready to install without
the need for additional filters or scrubbers. It has an internal
micron final membrane filter of 0.01, does not include any heater
elements; has an interal carbon based tower for the removal of
organical volatile. The Purity levels are 99.5% nitrogen, 0.01
Bacterium, .1% hydrocarbon, has 70 liters per minute plus. The Whatman
generator has refined membrane separation with respect to membrane
pore size and membrane surface area. Must be FDA approved and remove
yeast and molds, Mesophilic aerobic bacteria, mesophilic anaerobic
bacteria, thermophilic aerobic bacteria, thermophilic anaerobic
bacteria. Whatman, Inc., is the only known source for this generator.
THERE IS NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT AVAILABLE. All interested concerns
must identify their interest in writing and fully document their
capability to meet the agency's requirements by forwarding a detailed
response by April 12, 1999. All responses must be in writing and may be
faxed to (301) 504-4276. All proposals from responsible resources will
be considered by the Agency. If no affirmative written response is
received by April 14 to determine a comparable source is available, or
is more advantageous to the Government negotiations will take place
