The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) with EMC Test Systems of Austin, Texas for an Antenna Measurement System. The antenna measurement system will include the following: 1)Mini mast tower; 2)Hand control unit for tower; 3)Virtual controller; 4)Multi-Device controller; 5)20m fiber optic cable; and 6)Double ridged horn antennas. EMC was the manufacturer of the original system. The hardware, software, and parts for this system will interchange with the old system. This system will be used for calibration work at an open area test site. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This synopsis is issued for information only. No competitive solicitation is planned. No award will be made on the basis of requests in response to this notice. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government's best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement.
