Johnson, Phone: 301-227-7817 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Requirement: Item 1, InterServe 8000 Server or equivalent, Quantity 1. Its salient features shall include: 2 deskside towers, 8 18GB hard drives, configurable to RAID 5, Hard drives shall be SCSI-3 Ultra, hot swappable, 80 MB/s and 10K rpm, Minimum 2 Pentium Pro 200 MHz or better processors that are expandable to 4, with 1MB write-back capable L2 cache per processor, 1 3.5 inch floppy drive, 1 CD-ROM 24x SCSI, minimum of 5 external I/O ports (for keyboard, three button mouse, 1 SCSI-3 Ultra 50-pin connection for tape or optical device, and 2 serial(com) ports), 1 SVGA 17" monitor with .28mm dot pitch, 1068x768 resolution capability @ 72MHz and a minimum 256 colors, minimum 6 full PCI slots and 1 ISA (shared), all necessary cabling, Operating system software Windows NT 4.0, and InterSTOR Backup Executive software. Item 2, HP SureStor 160EX, Optical Storage Jukebox, Model No. C1150J, or equivalent, Quantity 1. Its salient features shall include: Drives: 3 @ 16 slots, Capacity: 250GB, Interface: SCSI-2, 50-pin and single ended, all necessary cabling, Media: 150 5.2GB Magneto-Optical, rewritable cartridges, and Software: FileJockey v2.0 or later, NT 4.0 Server compatible. Item 3, Exabyte 230D Automated DLT Tape Library (230D -7000TWDK, #270007-461) or equivalent, Quantity 1. Its salient features shall include: 2 DLT 7000 drives, 1 Bar Scanner, Capacity: up to 1.05 TB @ 10MB/s, Interface: SCSI-2 50-pin, differential, wide, all necessary cabling, 6 EXAPAK cartridge magazines (loaded) and cleaning tapes, and Software: BackUp Exec (NT) v7.2 or later. Item 4, Server attached disk array and controller, which meets the following requirements: supports a minimum of 90 GB of storage in RAID configuration, possesses hot-swap capability for drives, controllers, fans and power sources, integrateable into existing NT 4.0 Workstation/Server environment, must be FORE ATM network compatible, using fiber connections, must have software capability of managing/scheduling unattended backups, and compatible to NT 4.0 Server, possesses SCSI-2 interface to 50-pin external connection. Operating system software Windows NT 4.0. All equipment shall include a three year warranty. The Contractor shall be responsible for all assembly and installation. The contractor shall be ISO 9002 certified. Installation and on-site warranty repairs shall be the responsibility of the Contractor and shall be performed by personnel possessing a DoD/SCI security clearance. Appropriate security clearances must be held by installation and maintenance personnel at the time of award. Installation and on-site warranty repairs shall be performed in work areas with minimum impact to ongoing production. Offerors may be requested to provide past performance information in support of the Government's bid evaluation. The equipment shall be delivered and installed at the addresses below: NIMA, 4600 Sangamore Road, Bethesda, MD 20816-5003 or NIMA, 3838 Vogel Road, Arnold, MO 63010 or NIMA, Defense Mapping School, Building 220, Middleton and 23rd Street, Ft. Belvoir, Virginia 22060-5921. Delivery of all items is F.O.B. Destination. Desired delivery is no later than 30 days after contract award. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 97-09 and the current version of the DFARS as of the date of the synopsis. The following clauses apply to this solicitation: FAR 52.212-1, FAR 52.212-2 (evaluation is based on best value of the overall requirement. Best value will include an evaluation of price and technical factors. Technical subfactors that may be considered in making a best value determination include the following: (i) degree to which stated requirements are met, (ii) special features of the supply that are required in effective program performance capabilities that are not provided by comparable supply/service, (iii) trade-in considerations, (iv) probable life of the supplies selected as compared with that of comparable supply item, (v) warranty considerations, (vi) maintenance availability, (vii) past performance, and (viii) environmental and energy efficiency considerations.
