SOLE SOURCE: The U.S. Army Soldier Biological and Chemical Command
(SBCCOM) has a requirement to experiment with "Get On TOP Of Buildings"
for the joint Army/Marine Corp -- Military Operations in Urban Terrain
-- Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (MOUT ACTD). Items that
potentially met the "Get On Top Of Buildings" under the MOUT ACTD web
site: http://yorktown.dc.isx.com/mout/index.html were evaluated in
small quantities during United States Marine Corps (USMC) Experiment 2
at Camp Lejeune, NC in August 1998. Although no candidates at that
time met the requirement of getting on top of buildings and being man
portable (able to be carried by one man), during a follow on
demonstration, one ladder did meet all the requirements of R28. This
ladder has been identified as LIMOR, the Light Modular Ladder from
Rafael, Israel. The Government intends to purchase a quantity of
twenty-four units for the Joint Experiments (JE1/2) and Culminating
Demonstration (CD), JE1 quantities are to be delivered toCamp Lejeune,
NC (three units) and JE2/CD quantities are needed at Fort Benning, GA
(twenty-one units). Anyone wishing to inquire about this announcement
