MD. 21244-1850 A -- RETROSPECTIVE EVALUATION OF LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION PROJECT SOL
HCFA-99-0016 POC Paula Kolick, Contract Specialist (410)-786-5165
Pending the availability of funds, the Health Care Financing
Administration (HCFA) is seeking to contract with a qualified research
contractor to evaluate health outcomes and cost effectiveness of
lifestyle modification programs for people with coronary artery disease
(CAD). This project, the Retrospective Evaluation of Lifestyle
Modification (RELM) Project, will be conducted over 30 months. The
Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) expects the awardee to
participate in the design of the RELM Project and coordinate all
aspects of the evaluation. The RELM Project is a nonconcurrent cohort
study of the cost-effectiveness of risk factor modification programs
for patients with demonstrated CAD. HCFA will study patients with a
prespecified level of coronary artery occlusion who have participated
in a formal lifestyle modification program compared with
nonparticipants having comparable demographic characteristics and
illness severity. HCFA would like to evaluate a variety of lifestyle
modification programs currently operating in the United States to
determine if this service would be of benefit to the Medicare
population. Requests for the RFP must be in writing and must be
received by the above office within 15 days of this notice. No
telephone requests will be honored. The RFP will be available on a
first come first serve basis until supply is exhausted. Please mail
requests to Paula Kolick, Health Care Financing Administration, 2-21-15
