Electronic Systems Center intends to issue a sole source contract to the Boeing Company, Boeing Information, Space & Defense Systems, Seattle, WA for an Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Integration Test Support (AITS) contract. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, this contract would continue to provide similar services performed over the past five and one-half years under the AWACS Development and Production Test (ADAPT) contract. This effort will be a services type contract to provide maintenance, maintain airworthiness and configuration control for the AWACS JE-3C testbed aircraft, also referred to as Test System 3 (TS-3). Maintenance and configuration control will be required for the AWACS ground laboratories, which support software development and system integration. Technical order (T.O.) and data storage facilities will also be required. This effort will provide flight deck and mission crews to operate TS-3, and the manpower required to perform mission system maintenance for the labs, and mission system and air vehicle maintenance for TS-3. When awarded, this contract action will provide for one year task ordering periods of performance, exercised on a yearly basis, spanning an overall period of five years. A solicitation will be issued on or about 15 Apr 99.
