Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform
drydocking and repairs including but not limited to the following base
and option items: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Renew Shaft Covering, (3)
Inspect Port and Starboard Bulkhead Stuffing Boxes, (4) Overhaul Stern
Tube Seals, (5) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (6) Service
Both Onboard Controllable Pitch Propeller Systems, (7) Install Tacan
Lightening Arrester Bonding Strap, (8) Preserve the Transducer Hull
Rings and Renew the Depth Indicating Transducer, (9) Preserve the
Transducer Hull Ring/Renew dsn-450 Doppler Speed Log Transducer, (10)
Overhaul, Renew and Test Valves, (11) Modify Auxiliary Salt Water
System Piping, (12) Modify Stern Tube Seal Cooling Systems, (13) Clean
and Inspect Diesel Fuel Tanks, (14) Service Rudder Assemblies, (15)
Renew Fin Stabilizer Seals and Bearings, (16) Renew Fin Shaft Sleeve,
(17) Replace Anchor Windlass Controls, (18) Overhaul Anchors and Anchor
Chains, (19) Preserve Chain Lockers and Sump, (20) Coating Thickness
Measurement Non-Destructive, (21) Renew Corrosion Preventive Zinc
Anodes, (22) Ultrasonic Testing, (23) Temporary Logistics, (24) Routine
Drydocking, (25) Composite Labor Rates, and (26) Lay Days. The vessel
is 270 feet in length and 38 feet 5/8 inch in width. The vessel's
homepier is located at State Pier, New Bedford, MA 02470-7252. The
availability schedule begins on or about 02 August 1999 for a period of
performance of forty-two (42) calendar days. The place of performance
is not geographically restricted. All referenced documents are
available for viewing at 300 E. Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. A
charge of $100.00 is required in the form of a certified check or
money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit
bids for the subject requirements. Plans and specifications will be
issued on or after 28 April 1999. All responsible sources may submit a
bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard.
ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business
Enterprises DBEs. The Department of Transportation (DOT) Short-Term
Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of
lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation
related contracts. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at
