Office, Contract@nist.gov. The National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with
University of Washington, 3935 University Way, Seattle, WA for
membership to Center for Process Analytical Chemistry (CPAC). The
institutional membership in the Center for Process Analytical Chemistry
of the University of Washington will allow NIST to participate in CPAC
activities, to interact with other members of CPAC in the
identification of important industrial process-measurement problems,
and to work collaboratively on technical approaches for provision of
the standards-infrastructures required for resolution of these
problems. This is a one year membership. The Government intends to
include four one year option periods. FOB Gaithersburg, MD. A
solicitation will be issued to University of Washington. The University
of Washington is the only vendor capable of performing this service
because CPAC is the only US organization devoted to
pre-commercialization research on the analytical methods,
instrumentation, and standards needs of the process industry. It is a
center possessing unique technical excellence in the areas of advanced
process analytical instrumentation. Its membership of some 35-40
industrial sponsors is a unique resource for identifying process
measurement needs in the chemical, petrochemical, forest product,
pharmaceutical, and food industries. The anticipated award date of the
contract is on or around thirty (30) days from the date of this
notice. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26 . If you have any questions
