65 -- DIALYZERS SOL IFB 689-54-99 DUE 051799 POC Michele Pompane, Contracting Officer, (203) 937-3079 The Department of Veterans Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System is seeking to procure dialyzers for use with the Government-owned Cobe Centrysystem 3 dialysis machines located at the West Haven Campus. The dialyzers should be made of a synthetic membrane such as polymethylmethacrylate or polysulfone and should be hollow fiber construction. Gamma irradiation is preferred over ethylene oxide as the mode of sterilization. The dialyzers should, at a blood flow of 400 cc/min., provide urea and B12 clearances of at least 300 and 150 cc/min. respectively and have UF coefficient > 10. The second type of dialyzer should, at a blood flow rate of 400 cc/min., provide urea and B12 clearances of at least 275 and 125 cc/min. respectively. The dialyzers should have the ability to be disposed of after each treatment and must be compatible with use by the Cobe Centrysystem 3 hemodialysis machines.
