The Government intends to acquire a Commercial Item using FAR Part 12. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA Midrange Pilot Test Program offered by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures, specifically FAR Subpart 13.5 -- Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The provisions and clauses in the RFO are those in effect through FAC 97-11. The Defense Priorities and Allocation System Rating for this procurement is C-9. THIS IS A SYNOPSIS ONLY -- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The solicitation and specifications will be released on or about April 6, 1999, with an anticipated offer due date on or about April 16, 1999. HARD COPIES of the solicitation and the specifications will be available upon release of the solicitation and may be obtained from the source (which is other than the contracting officer) shown at the end of thissynopsis. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. All qualified responsible sources may submit an Offer which shall be considered by the agency. The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible Offeror whose offer is the technically acceptable offer having the lowest price. Quantity: 2 each ITEM NO. 3 -- Sound Suppression Panel, Pre-Production; in accordance with CLCS Peripheral Housing Technical Specification dated February 26, 1999. Quantity: minimum 2 each. ITEM NO. 4 -- Peripheral Housing, Production; in accordance with CLCS Peripheral Housing Technical Specification dated February 26, 1999. Quantity: minimum 30, maximum 85 each. ITEM NO. 5 -- Portable Documentation Cart, Production; in accordance with CLCS Peripheral Housing Technical Specification dated February 26, 1999. Quantity: minimum 60, maximum 170 each. ITEM NO. 6 -- Sound Suppression Panel, Production; in accordance with CLCS Peripheral Housing Technical Specification dated February 26, 1999. Quantity: minimum 30, maximum 85 each. DELIVERY -- The above items are required to be delivered FOB Destination to NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Items No. 1, 2, and 3, are to be delivered by June 17, 1999.
