NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation RFQ5-24945-988 for one year: Support for Interface between ESDIS Project, National space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) with the Japanese. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to use TNK Space Corporation for this procurement. We intend to contract with TNK Space Corporation due to their technical expertise, technical knowledge of space programs, fluency in the Japanese language, knowledge of both the U.S. and Japanese space program implementation. Therefore, TNK Space Corporation has the unique capability required to provide this support. The Authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Only Responsible Source. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Notes 22 and 26.
