Notice of Intent to negotiate with one source. Contract DACW05-95-D-0001, Total Environmental Restoration Contract, a cost-reimbursement contract. The proposed contract action is to increase the existing indefinite- delivery, indefinite-quantity contract's ceiling price from $205M to $210M to allow completion of on-going work previously assigned to the contractor, IT Corporation. The increased contract capacity is necessary to cover cost growth in task orders presently underway and will not include any new task orders. The Government intends to increase the contract's ceiling price as stated unless as a result of analysis of responses to this notice a determination is made that such an increase is not in the best interest of the Government. The justification for the increase is based on FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) which states that services may be deemed to be available from only the original source in the case of follow-on contracts for the continued provision of highly specialized services when it is likely that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competititon, or unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. All interested persons may respond. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All responses received within 45 calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
