We are soliciting in-kind donations for the Elmendorf Youth Center's Great Elmendorf Duck Race at Elmendorf Air Force Base (AFB) on the 21st of August 1999.The event will be open to all base personnel, retirees, DOD civilians, Federal employees and their families. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for our regular Youth Center programs as well as our sports programs. Our goal is to sale 5,000 ducks to raise the needed funds. The ducks will be poured into Ship creek neer the golf course maintenance shack, and let the ducks free float to the finish line at the park near the Post Road gate. We are seeking prizes and sponsorship/donations in the following forms. First we would like to recieve a trip to Disneyland for four days for two including air-fare, hotel, and admission as a grand prize. We are also seeking prizes such as a Seward Fishing Trip, Dinner for two, Bicycles, a CD Player, Family Portrate, golf clubs, movie and/or bowling passes, and finally Gift certificates (ranging from $5 to $500). These items would be used as the prizes for the first 15 ducks that cross the finish line. Advertising will be done at all areas of the base. Sponsors may set up a booth at the event. Representation from the Sponsor/Donor would be accepted and encouraged. All offers will be considered. We would accept all or part sponsorship/donation for this event. More than one sponsorship/donation may be accepted and additives would be considered. Requests for copies of this solicitation may be recieved no later than 07 August 1999.
