Public Works Center, Jacksonville, plans to solicit proposals for its Regional Facility Services Contract I this summer. This synopsis should serve as early notice of these plans. This synopsis is not announcing a Request for Proposal nor are there any solicitation materials available. This is merely notice that this procurement is forthcoming. Due to the large size and complex nature of this contract, prospective contractors may wish to begin preparation early. Base year performance is currently scheduled to commence 1 Apr 2000 and will be for a period of six months with options to extend the contract services in increments of one to 12 months not to exceed a total of 60 months from date of contract award. This will be a combination firm fixed price and indefinite quantity contract with award fee provisions. These services are currently provided under various individual contracts. The work consists of providing the following Facility Services at Naval Station, Mayport and Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida: Facility Maintenance and Utilities, Family Housing Maintenance and Repair, Elevator Maintenance, Transportation Operation and Maintenance (to begin 1 Oct 2001), and Fire Alarm/Intrusion Detection. Some of these services will be phased in at the beginning of the first option period. This will be an unrestricted procurement. In future years, a smaller Regional Facility Services Contract II will be issued which will be Set-aside for Small Business. In conjunction with the pre-solicitation notice, Public Works Center welcomes WRITTEN COMMENTS ONLY from prospective offerors on the proposed solicitation. Comments may or may not be utilized.
