officer, bruce.johnson@med.va.gov. The VA Healthcare System of Ohio
intends to issue a Request for Proposal for cardiac event monitoring
services for VA outpatients. This service shall provide a complete
cardiac event monitoring service to detect cardiac arrhythmia in VA
outpatients. Service shall include the monitoring devices and a
centralized monitoring service with a 24-hour ability to receive
telephone transmissions from patients with event monitors. The service
will have the capability to immediately call a responsible clinician
upon receipt of a high-risk event recording. The service will have the
capability to notify the appropriate EMS system upon of a high-risk
event recording. The service will have the capability to have VA
electrophysiology specialists to review and comment on event records
from other facilities via a computerized reviewing system. The
computerized system must be compatible with Windows NT or Web Browser.
Anticipated usage is 25 to 30 units per month for VISN 10 which
includes the Medical Centers at Cincinnati, Dayton, Chillicothe,
Cleveland Ohio and the Outpatient Clinics located in Columbus,
Youngstown and Canton, OH. All interested responsible sources may
