The Pentagon Renovation Management Office, 100 Boundary Channel Drive,
Arlington, VA 22202, is holding an Industry Day on 12 April 1999 at
Defense Management Staff College, 9820 Belvoir Road, Management
Deliberation Center, Building 2, Fort Belvoir, VA for the Wedge 2
Acquisition, which is part of the on-going Pentagon renovation project.
It is the Government's desire to receive input from industry as we work
at finalizing our acquisition strategy for this project. During the
morning session, an overview of the project will be presented. This
will include technical requirements, phasing requirements, project
constraints, and details of the RFP. A question and answer period will
immediately follow. During the afternoon session, project requirements
will be presented as well as a risk assessment exercise. The risk
assessment exercise is a vital area in which the Government feels
industry's input will be most valuable in finalizing its acquisition
strategy. Therefore, it is requested that companies send only those
representatives whose contribution will have the greatest effect on the
Government's acquisition strategy. Finally, the day will conclude with
a discussion of the Wedge 2 Project Schedule. This is an opportunity
for industry to get involved in the early stages of this project and
provide valuable input into the acquisition strategy for this project.
Specifically, the Government is looking for those general building
construction contractors that have completed major renovation projects
(one million square feet plus) in a range from $50M to $200M.
Experience working on phased construction schedules and ability to work
on all facets of building construction, primarily interior core and
shell construction, from demolition to final tenant fit-out
construction. Type of work includes upgrading the building's complete
architectural, heating, ventilating, air- conditioning, plumbing,
power, lighting, fire protection, and telecommunication systems. Please
note that cost/technical proposals will not be accepted during this
time. Those wishing to attend should contact Mr. Al Moore at
(703)693-7682 no later than close of business on 06 April 1999. Posted
