is currently available -- The solicitation will be issued on or about
April 20, 1999.The principal components of the work to be performed
under these specifications include: a.Design, furnish, install and test
new replacement and modernization elevator equipment for the Powerplant
Control Bay elevator. The main items of new equipment shall include:
geared traction machine with an alternating current (AC) motor,
variable-voltage/variable frequency motor drive, programmable logic
controller, governor, ropes, sheaves, traveling cables, hoistway
wiring, fixtures, guides, car, safeties, doors and associated
equipment, door operators and associated equipment, and disconnect
switch. Remove and dispose of the existing equipment that is not
reused. b. Design, furnish, install and test new replacement and
modernization elevator equipment for the Block 14 and Block 19 dam
elevators. The main items of new equipment for each elevator shall
include: solid-state DC Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) for the
existing gearless traction machine, programmable logic controller,
governor, ropes, sheaves, traveling cables, hoistway wiring, fixtures,
buffers, guides, car, safeties, doors and associated equipment, door
operators and associated equipment, and disconnect switches. Remove and
dispose of the existing equipment that is not reused. c. Clean,
inspect, and report on the condition of the existing equipment and
materials to be reused. Report immediately on any of these items that
need to be repaired. Prepare previously painted surfaces of existing
equipment and materials to be reused and paint these items. d.Provide
training and diagnostic equipment to Bureau of Reclamation personnel
for operation and maintenance of the modernized elevator systems.
e.Design, furnish, install and test new fire detection systems for each
elevator. Estimated price range of the work is between $500,000 and
$1,000,000 -- Copies of solicitation provided on receipt of $17.00
