DATE: APRIL 26, 1999. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials,
equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to
provide mechanical, electrical and architectural renovations to Billard
Hall at the USCG Academy, New London, CT. Work includes: demolition of
locker rooms and toilet facilities, including walls, all toilet
fixtures and accessories, metal lockers and interior finishes including
plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems within designated spaces;
demolition of suspended plaster and acoustical ceilings, light fixtures
and partitions, and provision of new ceilings, light fixtures and HVAC
equipment; temporary capping of piping during construction; new
masonry and gypsum veneer plaster repairs, metal framed wall
assemblies, windows, doors and frames; new toilet fixtures, piping and
associated plumbing; new mechanical, ventilation and dehumidification
systems and modifications to the existing heating system; new
electrical panels, wiring, receptacles and lighting; and, new interior
finishes and toilet and locker room assemblies. This project also
includes removal of asbestos floor tile, and lead paint may be
encountered during plasterwork. An optional bid item is included for
all work associated with the Staff Locker room. Performance time will
be phased within a 6-month period: the Visiting Team's Locker Room
shall be complete within 90 days of receipt of the Notice to Proceed;
all work associated with the heating system MUST be complete no later
than 30 October 1999; remainder of the work is to be accomplished
within the 6-month period; and, the work associated with the option
item (Staff Locker Room) shall be completed within 90 days of option
exercise. The first locker room must be completed and turned over to
the Government prior to commencing on-site work on the optional bid
item. Estimated cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000
(inclusive of all options). SIC code is 1542. Solicitation packages
