Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for continuation of
services currently being provided under contracts N00167-95-D-0046 and
N00167-96-D-0007. The general scope of work falls under the following
(15) categories : 1) Ship Acoustic Signature Modeling, 2) Analysis of
Submarine Target Strength and Evaluation of Reduction Concepts, 3)
Improved Methods for Acoustic Imaging, Array Processing and
Understanding of Scattering Mechanisms, 4) Noise Control Engineering,
5) Improved Structural Acoustic Analysis Techniques, 6) Noise Reduction
Program Support, 7) Shock Analysis Design and Test Support, 8) Material
Development, 9) Acoustic Testing and Test Methods for Ship Structures,
10) Ship Coatings, 11) Submarine Acoustic Design and Construction
Support, 12) Signature Reduction Support, 13) Acoustic Signal
Processing, 14) Advanced Ship Structural Design and Optimization, and
15) Engineering Management Support. This technical support is for the
NSWCCD Bethesda, MD, whichconducts theoretical and applied research to
enhance the structural and acoustic posture of U.S. Navy ships.
492,500 hours of labor are estimated to be required over a five year
period with a staffing of approximately 50 Personnel. A Department of
Defense security clearance to the DOD secret level will be required for
the contractor's facilities and all personnel. Request for copies of

is estimated that Solicitation N00167-99-R-0023 will be issued on or
about 14 May 1999 and close approximately 45 days thereafter. It is
anticipated that award of an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity
Cost Plus Fixed Fee contract will result from this competitive
