and Research of the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration, U.S.
Department of Labor solicits for research projects concerning private
employment-based pension, health, and other benefits. To be eligible,
proposed projects must relate to employee benefits programs or related
public policy, cost $25,000 or less, and be completed within one year.
Projects must not involve original survey data collection. Higher
priority will be given to projects that are more technically sound,
cost effective, national in scope, and closely related to DOL's
responsibilities and current policy issues under Title I of ERISA. In
addition, priority will be given to studies using the form 5500 series
data, the Health and Retirement Study, the April 1993 Supplement to
the Current Population Survey, The September 1994 Supplement to the
Current Population Survey, or the Employee Benefit modules to the
survey on Income and Program Participation (SIPP). Proposal will be
reviewed for award at regular intervals. Proposals received after
August 2,1999, will not be considered under this request for proposals.
This program is designated for a 50 percent small business set-aside.
