Turbines are vertical Francis type. Units 1 and 2 were manufactured by Newport News Shipbuilding Co; Unit 3 was manufactured by James Leffel Co. Generators are air-cooled vertical hydro-generators manufactured by Westinghouse Corp. Work will include but not be limited to: (1 Rehab of turbines with dissolved oxygen improvements in the form of an auto-venting turbine 2) Rehab/rewind of generators 3) Replacement of excitation system 4) Replacement of governors. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. The estimated value of this procurement is over $10 million. The solicitation will be available on CD-ROM (compact disk) on or about 26 Apr 99.
