The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to procure the following, on a sole source basis, from Natcher Conference Center of Bethesda, MD under the authority of 41 U. S. C. 253 (c) (1)- Only one responsible source. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-10. The standard industrial classification (SIC) Code is 7011. The Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) are as follows: CLIN 0001 The contractor is to supply Coffee service and lunch for 300 attendees for the Modern Trends in Activation Analysis -10 (MTAA-10) Conference, April 19-23, 1999 at the Natcher Conference Center in Bethesda Maryland. The following are to be priced by 1 lot: CLIN 0001AA- Morning Coffee Break (300 persons x 5 days); CLIN 0001AB-Refreshments (300 persons x 5 days); CLIN 0001AC-Afternoon Coffee Break (300 persons x 5 days); CLIN 0001AD-Lunch (300 persons x 5 days); CLIN 0001AE- Service Charge (5 days); CLIN 0001AF-Labor (5 days). STATEMENT OF WORK- The contractor shall furnish the necessary personnel, material, equipment, services and facilities (except as otherwise specified) to perform the following statement of work/specifications. Food Service. (1) Coffee Breaks: The contractor shall provide coffee, tea, decafe, juice, and assorted pastries at 8:00 AM; a refresh of hot beverages at 10:30 AM; and sodas, hot drinks, cookies or brownies and fruit at 2:00 PM, each day on April 19 through April 23, 1999. (2) Lunches: the contractor shall provide a variety of hot and cold selections for lunch each day at noon on April 19 through April 23, 1999. The lunches can be buffets, barbecues or bag presentations. The offeror shall include the same warranty terms offered to the general public in customary commercial practices. The Natcher Conference Center is the only contractor authorized to provide the above requirements within their facility. It is anticipated as a result of this solicitation a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order will be issued by April 9, 1999. The Period of Performance is for April 19, 1999 through April 23, 1999. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses received within 15 days after the date of publication of this synopsis. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfil the requirement. A solicitation is not available. Award is anticipated to be April 9, 1999. The clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
