AMI-American Management, Inc. as prime contractor to the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, is soliciting bids from qualified firms for the provision of demolition services at Fulton Village Apartments in Houston, TX. The demolition shall involve extensive abatement of asbestos containing materials on exteriors and interiors of buildings prior to destruction of all structures. Estimated job cost is between $1 million and $1.5 million. When requesting copies of the solicitation, bidders must identify whether they are interested in offering as prime or as subcontractors. Bid bonds will be required with all submissions. Payment and performance bonds will be required of the contractor prior to commencement of work. Fulton Village Apartments, located at 1101 Bardwell St., Houston, TX and associated structures, is approximately 60 years old and in a considerable state of disrepair. AMI shall act as contract administrator for this effort, but demolition and abatement oversight shall beconducted by an independent firm under contract with AMI. All costs associated with this effort are direct pass-through costs under the Cost-Reimbursement portion of AMI's contract with HUD. Offerors must be fully licensed and capable of performance of the work in order to have their bid submission considered. No offeror shall subcontract more than 50% of the total contract cost or effort, and all offerors shall fully indemnify and hold harmless both AMI and the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development.
