The Naval Air Systems Command, Air Crew Systems Program Office (PMA-202) intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-99-G-1120 to Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, Ltd. The order will incorporate Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) number MB9230. This ECP is intended to modify the SJU-17 to provide for increased accommodation, and insure that ejection injury risk for an expanded range of aircrew anthropometry is equal to or less than the current injury risk with the originally qualified anthropometric range. Martin-Baker is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the NACES and is the only firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment, and experience to perform this effort within the required time.
