The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a Cost Plus Fixed Fee order under BOA N00019-98-G-0037 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Boeing Company for the fabrication of wiring modifications necessary to provide a FLIR navigation video from the Advanced Targeting Forward Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) system installed on the aircraft. The McDonnell Douglas Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 ATFLIR and, as such, is the only firm possessing the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment necessary to perform these efforts within the required timeframe.
