FOR INFORMATION ONLY. No solicitation will be issued. The Defense
Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to award a sole source contract
to the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute to investigate various
methods and means of increasing the energy density level of the small
particle ensemble, evaluate the high energy density level for
nonequilibrium states of small particles, investigate the effect of
coagulation of small particles on initiation of detonation, and
investigate the properties and processes of disintegration of small
particles of high energy density materials. Due to its unique knowledge
of energy accumulation and energy rechase process in nano-structured
media, the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute is the only
organization capable of performing this effort. Contemplated period of
performance is 12 months. All responsible sources must provide written
documentation demonstrating identical or equal capability to perform
